The ACP thanks David Cunningham for his service

The Executive Committee and membership would like to thank David Cunningham for his stunning efforts for us over the last 5 years during which he has been chair of the Executive Committee of the ACP. David has steered us through some eventful times for which we are very grateful and we are sure he will continue to be an active participant and wise counsel for us in the future as we chart our way through to hopefully a brighter future.
At the same time as saying thank you to David, we would like to welcome Andrew Wardley into the role of Chair of the ACP executive committee. Andrew is well known to all of us for his astonishing track record in clinical practice, and clinical and translational research. Andrew is internationally renowned and has both led and collaborated in many practice-changing clinical trials. We are indeed lucky that Andrew has agreed to take on the role of chair and all the work that this will entail.
I can also introduce myself as the new Hon. President of the Association as of early 2022. Fortunately, our immediate past President Peter Selby, remains very active on our behalf with his continuing leadership of the Closer Working Group, which was set up about 3 years ago. The output from that group has been extremely important in steering the specialties of clinical and medical oncology into a much closer alignment for the benefit of our patients. I have now been retired for over 3 years and have time to dedicate to the future of the ACP and our speciality.
